II Brazilian Workshop on Software Visualization (WBVS 2012)

With the steady growth of software projects, along with the vast processing power of computers, new research has been developed to allow a better understanding of the structure, behavior and evolution of software process and product. This research makes use of visualization tools and techniques applied in the context of software, encouraging the rise of the software visualization field.

Software visualization uses visual abstractions to represent various properties of software systems, in order to reveal patterns and behaviors that otherwise would remain hidden. For this reason, the design and use of visual resources play an important role for software engineering.

Due to the increasing number of published studies involving software visualization, WBVS emerged as the first event in Brazil that seeks to bring together academic and industry researchers to discuss relevant results and faced challenges in the visualization field.

In its second edition, WBVS will take place in Natal, RN, as a satellite event of CBSoft 2012.

As in the previous edition, researchers from academia and industry are invited to submit full and short papers. Moreover, the 2012 edition of WBVS brings a new category of submissions: Challenge papers. Please check the call for papers to obtain information about this new category.
